Shot With Bean Bags In Fight With LAPD CBS Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (CBS) The Los Angeles Police Department said Monday that they arrested a 68 year old man Friday after heattempted to ram several police cars with his vehicle.
The violent confrontation included three police officersusing Tasers on the man as well as shooting him with beanbags.
LAPD officers from Pacific Division attempted to stop Lasky car after theyallegedlywitnessed him driving erratically. A chase ensued and officers repo nike air max 95 rted that Lasky made a U turn and attempted to ram several police cars with his vehicle.
Police finally used a PIT maneuver to force his car to a stop at the intersection of Elenda and Arizona avenues in Culver City, officials said.
Lasky was ordered out of his car but refused to comply with the order, police said. Officers then broke the car driver and passenger side windows and again ordered him to exit his car.
LAPD officers Osmani Baeza, Efrem Hunter and Brittany Borja then shot Lasky with their Taser guns and Officer Walter Leiva then shot Lasky twice with bean bags, police said.
During the confrontation, officers alleged that Lasky repeatedly ordered his pit bull dog to attack the police. It is unknown if the dog followed Lasky direction, and there no report of the officers shooting the dog with their weapons.
After Lasky was finally subdued, Culver City paramedics transported him to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, the LAPD reported. Lasky was then booked for with a deadly weapon with a vehicle on a police officer, the LAPD reported.
